Available for sale is a 1980 Mercedes 450SL. This 450SL currently has 235K miles, registered, and with California title. Always a west coast car, there is no rust anywhere. This Mercedes has had a single owner since 1982, and is currently maintained and owned by the son since last year. The blue convertible soft top is in great condition with clear plastic rear window. Hard top has always been stored carefully and will come with a top storage dolly. Hard top has great windows, excellent headliner and trim, has one single 2" scratch on top (see pictures).
The mostly original silver paint still looks great with lots of life, no visible oxidation, but with a few scuffs and scratches. All 4 tires are new. Interior shows wear around the seats, some cosmetic trim could use attention. Instrument cluster has all working lights, and a working clock. AC or the blower don't work. All windows work. The odometer driving gears have recently went out and will need to be replaced. In 2000, the car was involved in a rear end accident, and received a salvage title from the insurance company. The repair was done at an authorized Mercedes repair shop. Service has been completed as needed over the years, This Mercedes has recently had the fuel system rebuilt (receipt available), and a tune up. It was able to pass a SMOG check in May without issues (certificate available). The car will comfortably cruise at 70mph, with good alignment, and responsive braking. Given the age and the miles of this car, it handles very well. The engine is strong and transmission shifts smoothly.
