Re-listed due to a winning buyer being unable to complete the sale.
I have owned this car for 7 years and personally maintained it. Originally registered in MA she spent most of her life in Texas and Florida and the underside is in excellent condition. I have restored many European cars but have only needed to carry out normal maintenance and parts replacement which have included, new brake rotors and pads, front suspension ball joints and steering shock absorber, fuel injectors, fuel accumulator and fuel line valves, spark plugs, air filters, hard top and boot cover seals.
I recently changed engine and differential oils. She has a clean, accident free carfax history.
These models have several weak points which have been addressed. The clock has been replaced and also the dashboard is pristine - not a cover up job! As mentioned above, the fuel system has also been gone through with various items replaced including the fuel pump relay which is a particularly difficult part to reach! The battery was replaced with a new 900 cranking amps unit in the last week.
The body and paintwork is in excellent original condition with one small dent behind the left rear roof. It is difficult to see so I left it alone in favor of keeping all of the body panels original. The only other blemish is on the left side of the drivers seat where a previous owner had a pvc patch inserted to cover a tear. The hardtop is in pristine condition including a rear screen heater. The soft top is in perfect condition.
The AC is ice cold. I replaced the Schrader valve and recharged it with 134a about 3 months ago and have not had to  touch it since.
As a reminder of her heritage, she has an original (non functional) cell phone mounted between the seats and a cell phone antenna on the right rear quarter. In the trunk I have a full set of new drive belts and the original toolkit. The glovebox contains most if not all of her original documentation and a pair of hard top removal tools. I have the original radio for the car which was replaced with a modern unit.
I am selling my 560SL because she really needs more exercise than I can give her. She starts and drives beautifully and stops on a dime. This really is one of the best original examples out there and deserves an owner who can take good care of her. The mileage is very low for her age and she drives just as good as the day she left the factory.
The reserve is lower than what I know she is worth so please no lowball offers as I will keep her rather than give her away. I am willing to help load the car onto your transporter/trailer if needed. If payment is made by check/money order, it must clear my account before pickup.
