    Description

For the development and production of the 1982 Ridley Scott film, Blade Runner, a talented team of cast and crew members helped to bring the future world of the characters to life in conditions of rain and cold during many nights on the set of the Burbank filming lot at the Warner Bros. studio in California.
For production-supplied attire, the production company supplied shirts, jackets and hats to production members.
This is a production-supplied jacket produced to carry the same text as the hats and shirts, with the jackets carrying the same thread embroidery technique as the hats. The jackets were produced in varied color combinations, with this one being black with red outline thread on the title embroidery, and being the most common that have surfaced for sale.
In addition to the silver thread title embroidery details, this jacket has a unique presence in that it is one of only a small number known currently to be issued without a "TM" marking accompanying the title embroidery.
To date, only six are known to be produced without the "TM" addition, with three known to be still in the hands of production members, one sold 10 years ago from a member of the effects crew who left the production early, the one being offered here, and the sixth being also black, but with a silver title with blue outline thread which may be offered through the Hollywood Cargo listings in the future.
Made by The Cloth Tattoo and sized XL, this jacket has no presence of wear or tear with zipper and elastic all functional as issued. There are areas of the jacket where the color has shifted slightly to a purple-burgundy, primarily on the inside upper portion of the lining, but overall remains primarily the black color as issued. The collar fabric has two small defects on the right side. See images. Feel free to ask questions.
Stored away from light since purchased nearly 2 decades ago, this 40-year-old item represents a rare production item and the only one known being offered currently with no "TM" embroidery added.
As the years have passed since the making of the film, such production items are still difficult to find and obtain in this condition, as many appear to have suffered a great deal of discoloration, shifting to an overall burgundy color.
Follow the listings on Hollywood Cargo for other items from productions, including jackets, merchandise and promotional material.
